Personally Identifiable Information (PII) on campus computers
This is a reminder to returning faculty/staff and an introduction to new employees about the Identity Finder PII scanning software.
Penn State uses software called Identity Finder to detect and remediate Personally Identifiable Information (PII) on campus computers. PII includes things like social security numbers, credit card numbers, and bank account numbers.
The Identity Finder software will run a scan every 2 weeks. Once the scan completes a windows will pop up for you to review and remediate the results. It is each individual's responsibility to accurately remediate scan results. If the scan does not run or you need any help remediating the results please call the Help Desk at 4858.
