Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Open Season

Both the women’s and men’s basketball team opened their seasons Monday night against Pitt-Titusville. 

 

The women lost a close game 73-69; with the game tied at 69 in the last minute of play.  Titusville, however, was able to score their final points to claim the win.  Leading the scoring for the PSU DuBois Lady Lions were Mary Pillot with 14 points), Kylie Lewis and Chelsea Szakal with 12 points each, and Jordan Fairman with 11 points.  The women’s team will play on Friday at Potomac State College in Kyser, West Virginia.

 

The men won an outstanding game over Pitt-Titusville 95-73.  With only one returning player on the court from last year’s team; freshmen stepped up to set the tone for the game.  Leading scores for PSUD came off the bench in Khalil Hopson with 33 points and Sam Roselli with 23 points.  Also breaking into double figures was Marshaun Hyman tallying 11 pts.

 

The men’s next game will be on Saturday at Clarion University at 1:00 p.m.

 

Both teams will play at home at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. on November 25, when they host Central Penn College.
